Greedy Baby is a collaboration between veteran electronic renegades Plaid and Brighton film-maker/visual artist Bob Jaroc. Rather than the usual process of musicians reacting to an advert or movie and writing a score or compiling a soundtrack, Plaid wrote the album first with Jaroc adding the visual element afterwards. After playing the completed audio-visual package live at a run of international festivals, the collaborators are now releasing it commercially. The audio CD makes for a somnambulistic – sometimes even dreary – listen in its own right, but is not without it’s playful and downright subversive moments. The accompanying DVD however, on which the music is coupled with Jaroc’s experimental, provocative and highly absorbing imagery, brings the whole project into a much more engaging and satisfying dimension.–Paul Sullivan
