Cole Porter’s musical was revived for Broadway in 2001 and this is a recording of the cast performing at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre. Divorced couple Fred and Lilly are brought back together to star in a new musical version of Shakespeare’s ‘The Taming of the Shrew’. As the opening night approaches an almighty argument is brewing between the pair of them, and when the curtain finally rises events on the stage seem to reflect events in their own lives, with Fred determined to tame Lilly, no matter if he was to do it on stage, in character, and in front of a paying audience. Includes the songs ‘So in Love’, ‘Brush Up Your Shakespeare’ and ‘From This Moment On’.
